The Ministry of the Environment requires, that anyone engaging in water well drilling, well digging, pump installations, or doing well upgrades hold the proper license to perform the work.
A contractor's license is required to perform any work pertaining to wells or pump work in the well. A contractor's license assures the customer that the contractor is adequately insured.
To then drill a well a driller requires a technician's Class I license.
To install a pump requires a Class 4 technicians license.
Technicians are required to take upgrading courses to keep their license current.
